$99 Dell Laptop
If we say that people will consume more from cloud, that means everyone will have data-card built into their laptop. Here is Dell $99 laptop with 2 yrs subscription plan to AT&T.
I think they are using same model as Apple iPhone. Over a period of 2 years, they will get some money from AT&T. Dell has lot of power on its supplier, so they may have come in same agreement with supplier that they will get money over a period of 2 yrs. Or Other option may be they are getting lump sum money from AT&T when they sell Laptop with 2 yrs contract. This is all my guess. I'm not in that department :).
Pretty interesting.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what their cost in making the machine is, I can't imagine they are making any profit at all!
How do you think they will leverage this PC to generate some revenue in order to pay for their costs?

Yeah. Agree with Rash. Seems like they are making money off of the plan. Sounds like they are selling a cellphone, but it's a netbook.
